Air dryers that use water to cool and remove moisture are often used in factories to keep the compressed air from causing harm to machines or goods. These dryers take out the water from compressed air by cooling it down. When it's cooled, the water turns into a liquid. The wet substance is taken out of the air flow using a tool, so that only dry compressed air is left.

The way a water-cooled machine that cools air works involves many important parts. The first thing is the compressor. It squishes the air and makes it hotter. The squeezed air goes into a thing called an air-to-air heat exchanger. There, it gets cold because it meets the air that's already come out of the dryer and doesn't have any moisture left in it. When the air is squeezed, it becomes cooler and its moisture turns into liquid.

The cold and wet air goes into a machine called a refrigeration circuit. Inside that machine, it moves through something called an evaporator. The evaporator has something inside called refrigerant that takes the heat from the air and cools it down more. When air goes through the evaporator, the water in the air turns into liquid droplets and gets removed from the air. The water is taken out of the system.

The dry compressed air goes through filters and dryers to take away any leftover wetness or dirt in the air before moving on. The last thing that happens is that the water cools down the machine that makes things cold. This makes the liquid that makes things cold turn back into a liquid again, so it can be used again later.

Water-cooled refrigerated air dryers are good because they work well even when it's very hot and wet outside. They don't stop working as well. They are smaller than air-cooled dryers, which makes them great for places where there is not much room. But they need water all the time to stay cool, and this can be a problem in some places.

Water-cooled refrigerated air dryers cool and remove moisture from compressed air using a refrigeration process. The moisture is then taken out of the system. This makes the air become dry and squeezed, which can be used in many types of factories.
